Coinbase has announced that it has opened up the Ethereum 2.0 stacking rewards waitlist for its customers. They have said that it plans to offer a yield of 7.5% for those that plan to stack. The Coinbase earn waitlist is popular among Ethereum holders wanting to be able to get staking rewards when Ethereum 2.0 is launched. It should be noted that Coinbase will be taking a 25% commission of the staking rewards, so those waiting for the Coinbase earn waitlist should see what the other exchanges are offering as well.
It is said that Coinbase will also make ETH staking available much sooner before Ethereum 2.0 goes live. Currently it is expected for Ethereum 2.0 to be ready at the earliest sometime in the Summer of 2021, but it might take longer for the Ethereum team to get ready for a launch of Ethereum 2.0.
It should be noted because of regulatory issues, the Coinbase earn waitlist for Ethereum 2.0 will not be available to residents living in the state of New York. This is common for most things in the crypto space as the regulatory issues for the state of New York are not crypto friendly has things take much longer before they become available in the state of New York.
Coinbase has said that they also plan to make available other cryptocurrencies available for the staking rewards service soon for names like Cosmos and Tezos. Keep an eye out for the Coinbase Earn Waitlist for when those launch.
