How do you turn ON Galaxy S20 Blocking mode

  • Turn on the Galaxy S20 or Galaxy S20+
  • Go to Settings
  • Browse until you find “Blocking Mode”
  • You’ll find an ON/OFF switch in the upper right corner. Turn the toggle ON
  • If Blocking Mode has been turned on, you will see a small circle and a dash icon in your status.

Setting up Galaxy S20 Blocking Mode

You can select which alerts and sounds you want to block below the Features section. This is similar to the Do Not Disturb feature on the iPhone or iPad. Block incoming calls should be selected. Do not select the box to turn off the alarm or time if you’re using the Galaxy S20+ Plus as an alarmclock.

You can also choose when Blocking Mode for Galaxy S20 or Galaxy S20+ Plus will be activated automatically. Blocking Mode can be set to a schedule but cannot be changed for weekends or weekdays. You can also change the schedule based on your calendar. You can choose a time when Blocking Mode will start or stop on your Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

You can also allow certain contacts to contact you in the Blocking Mode. You have the option to block all contacts, choose your favorites, or create a custom contact list that can contact you. If you select Favorites, anyone on your contact list that has a star at its top can contact or block you. You can create a custom contact list by adding a list to the bottom of the Do Not Disturb Page.

Noting that the Blocking Mode does not prevent you from blocking repeat callers that you don’t want to speak to, it is important to remember that. You will need to add that number to your contacts. Click on the three dots at the top right to do this. Then, add that contact to the reject list.
